Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Boson website, dashboard, and GitHub App (together, the “Service”). Boson is operated by Sakib Sadman Shajib, an individual based in Canada who runs Boson as a sole proprietorship under that name. Boson is not a company, so your agreement under these Terms is with that individual. “Boson,” “we,” “us,” and “our” below refer to that individual. By installing the GitHub App, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. The Service
Boson is an on-demand code review tool. When you comment @boson review on a pull request in a repository where the Boson GitHub App is installed, Boson runs one review pass and posts a single comment with its findings and supporting evidence. Boson never approves a pull request and never requests changes; every merge decision remains yours. Boson does not publish a guaranteed turnaround time or service-level commitment for when a review will complete.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for safeguarding your account credentials and any session created through Google or GitHub sign-in. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. GitHub App Installation and Repository Access
Installing the GitHub App on a repository authorizes Boson to read the pull request content in that repository needed to review it, and to post review comments back to it, as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to grant Boson this access to the repositories you install the App on, including any code contributed by others in that repository. You may uninstall the App at any time from GitHub’s own settings, which immediately stops any further access.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use the Service to submit content you do not have the right to share; attempt to reverse engineer, probe, or interfere with the Service or the environments that run reviews; exceed documented usage limits or attempt to circumvent quota, billing, or rate-limiting controls; or use the Service to build a competing product.
5. Fees and Payment
Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe, at the prices shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may suspend or limit the Service on an account with a failed or overdue payment after reasonable notice. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Stripe where required.
6. Intellectual Property
Boson retains all right, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, prompts, and harness, and grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. As between you and Boson, you retain all rights to your own code and pull request content. You grant Boson a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Confidentiality of Your Code
We treat the code and pull request content you submit to the Service as confidential. We use it only to provide, support, and bill for the Service, and, as described in the Privacy Policy, to generate a review through our large-language-model relay. We do not sell your code and do not use it to train Boson’s own models.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE, AND ANY FINDINGS IT PRODUCES, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Boson’s findings are generated with the assistance of third-party AI models and deterministic checks, and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong. The Service is a tool to assist human review and is not a substitute for your own judgment, testing, or security review. You remain solely responsible for the code you merge and for any decision you make based on a Boson finding or the absence of one.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BOSON WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. BOSON’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID BOSON IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Boson harmless from any claim arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit to the Service without the right to do so.
11. Term and Termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service. You may stop using the Service and uninstall the GitHub App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6 through 10 and 15) survive.
12. Changes to the Service or These Terms
We may change the Service, including its features and pricing, and may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms here and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of the Province of Ontario, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
14. General Provisions
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Boson regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreement on the subject. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign these Terms in connection with a sale or other transfer of the Boson business or its assets.
15. Contact Us
